OUR STRUCTURE

OUTWARD BOUND Germany can look back on a long history as an experiential education provider. We are an extracurricular educational institution and have been offering experiential education courses and outdoor training for personal development in and with nature for over 70 years. Our non-profit organization was founded back in 1951 by Kurt Hahn, one of the most renowned reform educators of his time, and has been active in Germany ever since.

Our customers include many renowned schools such as Salem College, Leysin or TASIS as well as world-renowned companies such as Osram, Bosch or Hewlett Packard. Today, OUTWARD BOUND is the market leader in experiential education in 35 countries around the world. OUTWARD BOUND gGmbH is a recognized provider of voluntary youth welfare services according to § 75 SGB VIII, Art. 33 AGSG.

In 2013, the OUTWARD BOUND gGmbH was founded. Since then, she has been responsible for the operational business of the non-profit institution OBD. The main shareholder of the gGmbH is OUTWARD BOUND e.V. The board of directors of the e.V. is responsible for the quality control of “Pedagogy” and “Safety” in the execution of our seminars.

Outward Bound Germany e.V.

OUTWARD BOUND Deutschland e.V. is an educational institution organized as a non-profit association that supports people in their individual development as individuals or within a group through experiences in and with nature. The main tasks of the honorary board are quality control, further development of the pedagogical concept and control of the safety concept. OUTWARD BOUND’s offering in Germany includes experiential education seminars, outdoor training and continuing education courses. More than 7,000 schoolchildren, young people, students and trainees take part in these programs every year.
